Trenches

    Hello again, sorry to bother you again, but I can't find the trapdoor, probably very stupid, but........
    I'm at Trenches 2, just in the beginning, I've collected the medipack, climbed back up, did shoot the guy from the roof, but then... I've tried every road near where I am, but can't find it.... :ouch:
    Hope you can help me out again

    It is a ceiling trapdoor. It in the passage left of the palmtree. The trapdoor is on the right side of the road.

    :cry: Yes, I did. Lasersight doesn't seem to work on my computer for some reason. Binoculars zoom in and out work but not lasersight. Had to cheat to advance to next level but would prefer to know how to do it properly ???

    In preparation for Anniversary, I've been raiding all the old tombs again. I originally played through all of these on the PC, and now I've replaced them with (very inexpensive!) PS copies. It's good to spend time with Lara again.


    Anyhow, I'm totally stuck in Last Revelation: Trenches. I'm at the bit where you have to sneak past the automated machine gun and then target the tank on the back of it with the laser sight.


    So... I sneak around the crates and all is good... But as soon as I stand up to shoot at the machine gun, it immediately becomes aware of me and swings around to fire at me... Making me unable to target the tank on the back of it!


    What do I do? What am is missing?


    Maybe this was easier on the PC than it is on PS, 'cuz I did it somehow back when I played this game in 1999 or whenever...


    Well, any help would be appreciated.

    It sometimes does that. Luckily I made it ok most of the time. I think there might be a little trick.


    I assume you crawled? all the way? There is definitely trouble coming when you try to carefully walk to the spot, even though it might seem that the sensor didn't spot you at first.


    (Plus you should also make sure the thing does not see you before covering behind the crates.)


    You should try standing up at different spots in this corner. (like close to the opening or far away, on the left or the right end...)


    As far as I know there is no difference between PS and PC Version. I did not have any more trouble with this trap when I played it on my PlayStation.

    I am not sure if it was this spot, but I also recall a spot where I tricked one of those traps by getting seen on the other side, and then sneaked over to another spot. So maybe telling you to not get seen before is not a good idea. You should try both methods.

    Yeah, that is the ticket... To get seen in one place in order to get the gun to point in a particular direction, and then to sneak behind or to the side of it.


    Strangely enough, after trying it perhaps 20 times last night and this morning, after I posted back and forth with you, I tried and it worked first time! ( :slapforehead )


    Maybe it was because, some of the times I tried and failed, I took out my weapon from a crouch in order to have it at the ready... This time I didn't, and maybe that made a difference.


    Ah, well... My little "crisis" is over. But if I get stuck again, I now know who to ask! But maybe this thread will be of use to someone else who gets stuck in a similar situation...
