My answer to The Louvre

  • Glad they're appreciated. I would've made one for myself but I cant find any images that havent been... clichéd, or so to speak because of that many people using them. I like images that reflect me as a person, so I'll stick with Dora. Wotcher.

  • @ Skinny Jeans

That's very true - many popular images are used by most people, but as i see you are really good with the design of images. So maybe even the most ordinary image could be turned into the most beutiful.

For myself - I'm trying to think in a cliché way, but in the same time I'm not creating a cliché, but something new which is pointing in a concrete theme e.g. my current sig is about TRU. And i'm directing the viewer of the image to that up-coming game. And only with the title. This will sound really selfish, but I have quite the expirience with manipulating images and I can design what ever i want.

What prog are you using? And for how long?
I've been using Photoshop for 3 years [hehe]

  • It may shock quite a few people that I'm only using Photoshop 6. I suppose its my abilities with it covers that up. And if i did go for a later version it would mean forking out a small fortune and having to get used to something entirely more complex which would take up time that I simply havent got at the moment.

  • I whipped up a few sigs whilst I was taking a break. I didn't try anything extravagant 'cause quite frankly I don't have the capacity to learn and repeat at the moment.

  • Thanks :-)
I agree, I think it works well not only because of the images used being of similar colour saturation and contrast but also because the expression on Lara's face on the image of the left is so captivating.

  • Why thank you :-) .

At some point in the future I'm going to attempt to draw a collage from various images from underworld. Should be interesting to say the least, I havent drawn a portrait in over 6 months 8| .

  • Looking forward to it. How do you get that black, scratched look on the signatures, and those almost transparent shapes and designs scattered about?

  • Custom made brushes and borders, the effect is achieved through creating a transparent layer over the image/blend, pasting your border over and selecting overlay in the layer blend drop down. The brushes are created from my imagination and used as you would normally. They can be enhanced using filters. When I find time I'll demonstrate my point :-)

  • Yeah, I mean you can make a simple images look infinitely more appealing to the eye by using brushes.

Why, I thought I might grace the world with a TRU wallpaper. Quote from Map of the Problematique - Muse.

I'm looking to make a wallpaper of Natla using WT lyrics, so watch this space.

Apologies for the amount of edits, it is the doing of my inept PC.

  • Wow DA, these are really slick, nice work :O  I've been away so long I missed them when you posted them :/ ah I guess I should be calling you SJ now heh...

New avatars. Taken from TRU and the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII compilation. It has to be said, I am rather proud of the last avatar.

I don't know anything about FF, but they look good. And yes you have a good sense of proportion and where to crop and how to place text. I really like the middle bottom one

PS) I'm in need of an sig! I haven't got photoshop atm... :prettyplease :P
