The ending was one of the first videos I saw of TRL. I saw it even before I got the game. I had to watch it a few times till I understood it. But I really like it. The way how Lara speaks ("All these years I blamed myself", "From this moment your every breath is a gift from me", "I pitied him for thinking that way") lets me watch this cinematic very often. And I have to say I prefer the english version of that movie. I'm german and I really love the german voice of Lara, but about this scene I was kinda dissapointed. Maybe because I saw it in english first.

How could you understand what was going on if you watched it before playing the game?
-
I knew a little bit about the story. And I had to watch this movie more than once, till I understood it.
-
sure thing..
-
i havent reached the ending on the game yet, but i have seen the end movie. Lara goes totally balistic! ive never seen her so mad!
"WHERE *bang* IS *bang* MY *bang* MOTHER?"
she totally kicks ass.
but if theres a sequal i reckon Amanda and Lara will be all friendly and stuff and Lara finds her mum alive and everyones all happy, but then BAM! it turns out that Marco Bartoli from TR2 didnt die and hes teamed up with Amanda to kill Lara and her mum.
wouldnt that be an awesome story?
-
Nope lol, sorry. I wouldn't like her mother to come back as it would ruin laras character of being alone,if you get me. Plus i would rather the creators move on from legends not hang on it..
-
maybe they should bring in a character thats a bit like all of the characters previously met by Lara.
-
Wouldn't you rather have something new? I'd hate TR to linger in the past..
-
Me too! Lingering in the past would be lame.
I think that what Eidos needs to do is is to hire a team of writers to plot out a general outline of the story for the next half dozen or so games. Then they'd avoid all the discontinuity, nonsense, and pointless characters that has plagued the series so far. It would keep people interested in buying the next game in much the same way people look forward to installments of series of movies, books, or TV shows, and it would probably streamline the game development process somewhat because they wouldn't have to reinvent the game each time they produced a new one.
Of course, this investment would rely on the continued popularity of the franchise, so it would be a bit of a business risk for Eidos, but I don't think good quality storyline is too much to ask.
-
what i cant understand is why Edios and Chrystal (sp) Dynamics decided to get rid of the trademark plait, and swop to a ponytail. it also looks like shes had her hair feathered and layered.
-
I doubt that if Amanda's in the next one, she'd be evil because Lara took the jewel that she used to transform into that demon thing. Hopefully they'll become friends again if they make another one.
-
I don't think they will be friends again - I mean, Amanda more or less brought Lara's mother to Avalon, means Amanda took Lara's mother away from little Lara! I don't think Lara is that generous and forgives Amanda!
I can't think of any new storyline with Amanda - or Kurtis... I guess they will create new enemies and characters around Lara...
Or maybe Larson and Pierre will come back - again :hehe: (we better hope not) -
its not easy really stuck any tips and dont say toggle mode - tried and failed
charlie
-
i dont think they would put amanda again, from the ending i can say that lara is done with her. also, it ll be much better if lara starts on a new different adventure apart from the old characters
-
Just because Lara is, like you put it, done with her, doesn't mean that she wont come back. After all she is trying to get to Avalon, so is Lara - to find her mother...
-
I found the part with the portal really quite creepy, because when I played the game again, I could hear Lara's and Amanda's voice when there was a flash back when we saw the portal open for the first time in Nepal.
-
Yeah, when I beat it (some long time ago), I wondered if the voices could be heard in the flashback, and sure enough they were able to be heard.
-
love the ending
